Ways to Observe Lent with St John’s Ivyland

Lent is a time when we prayerfully & intentionally focus on the ways we have fallen short of God’s Love and the miraculous extent to which God still loves us.

Ash Wednesday Worship Services — 12 PM and 7 PM

We invite you to begin Lent in Worship with us on Ash Wednesday, February 18th at 12 or 7 PM. Ashes will be administered for all who wish to receive them. We pray we see you Ash Wednesday.

Lenten Preaching Series

“Remembering Covenants: God & Us” (9 am & 10:30 am Sundays during Lent)

Covenant is more than a promise and more than a contract. A covenant is a sacred (Holy) agreement God makes with us, and we make with God. Join us Sunday mornings throughout Lent as we remember and revisit the covenants God has made with God’s people, and what we — God’s children — have pledged to God!

Lenten Bible Study (Monday Evenings & Tuesday Mornings)

This Lenten season, join us as we remember the God who always remembers us…

God’s covenants throughout scripture show the character of God’s love for humankind, revealed through God’s faithfulness to the people of Israel. For our Lenten study, author Susan Robb will lead us through God’s covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David, followed by the new covenant established on Maundy Thursday. The Lenten story culminates with an examination of the cross as another example of God’s promise for a new world. Along the way we’ll see how covenant entails our faithful response.
