Matthew 25:34-45. Then the King will say to those on his right, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison? Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.
At the March 23rd UWF Communion Breakfast, Deaconess Darlene DiDominick from Arch Street United Methodist Church provided statistics on the unsheltered in Center City that the Center- Philadelphia, the church’s mission project, serves. There were over 788 unsheltered living on the streets in 2022. Over 30% of the unsheltered have serious mental illness. Substance abuse is found in 20%. There are 250 women who are victims of domestic abuse. A significant number are veterans with post-traumatic stress from combat; many of the unsheltered are over 55 years old.

United Women in Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities. We participate in local, regional, and global mission projects. Our membership is open to all women with a desire to belong and serve.
You may also choose to become a member of one of our five circles, which meet monthly. Each circle is a mirror that in its own unique way reflects the sisterhood, spiritual development, and charity of the St. John's United Women in Faith. Whether Circle members or not, we are all members of St. John's United Women in Faith. Circle and general meetings are open everyone, without special invitation.
In October, all women of the church and their friends and family are invited to gather for a welcoming meal. We usually have a guest speaker who represents a mission focus or spiritual growth message, as well as an update on happenings in the larger UWF organization. In March, we gather for breakfast and a Lenten devotion with communion. Our Spring Banquet in May includes dinner and various entertainment. Most of these events are held in our fellowship hall. Throughout the year, our five circles perform individual mission projects.
